I didn’t think that i could ever fall in love at first sight, but a babe with long flowing hair, wearing shoes i owned in grade six, with beauty only a woman riding a unicorn could posses may have just made me smitten.

i saw these guys way back in june o8.  sick then.  sick now.

Women will be playing with chad van at the horseshoe in toronto march 12.  I just came upon a video of them at cjm music marathon last november in new york.  we can’t miss this show.  check it.

now i can listen, then like something, then go to the blogs site that is putting on the show and download it. or just resort to my normal patterns and read the blog while listening to their posted songs…

another use. having a dance party and forgot to bring a dj? just hook up the ol’laptop to your stereo and you don’t have to do any mixing or worry about your playlist being dated. Or get this thing… not quite a hype machine, but still awesome.

This is really good. Makes me want to stop using my guitar as a stand for my stereo and learn to play English Houses. Also kinda sorta makes me want to quit my job, buy a shack, and not emerge until I have grown a lot of hair and make really good music.

i rarely go to the record store (for shame!) but yesterday I did and noticed a bunch of copies of Radiohead’s Airbag / How am I driving? ep in stock. This EP was once the pinnacle piece of any serious Radiohead fan’s collection, because it was a limited edition US-only release. In my university days I would source copies of the EP and sell them on ebay for tidy profits – as you can see on Amazon.com, in 2003 there was a copy available for $77. While I never made that tidy a profit, now that it is 2008, and Radiohead’s stock is so high – Capitol has re-released the EP and I would definitely recommend the $7 purchase on Amazon or your local independent music retailer (mall goers in Canada: at HMV the CD is 2 for $20).

Heck, I have a copy i could let go for $5…I was saving it for my children, but I guess their university fund will have to start with actual cash rather than the once prized possession of my radiohead collection.

k, that isn’t me. i started playing bike polo last week. it’s great. everyone should play. you aren’t allowed to put you feet down. ever. so you fall lots. then you have to tap back in. i say find the bike polo circuit near you. always a friendly bunch.

when i am not feeling the computer love at work… i check out peoples bikes and mallet construction.

Also, had the pleasure of watching these guys at the Rogers Picnic. Unfortunately it was raining and we left part way through their set. They did play fireworks though.
